Pupa!

Some information on the mealworm beetles!
These are the pupas which Ilyas brought to school a few weeks ago. Can you recall what is happening to the pupa at this stage?

That's right! It's developing adult structures to enter into its next stage! The picture below will give you a clearer picture of how it looks like. What does it remind you of?

We shall wait patiently for the larvas in Miss Neo's home to transform into pupas. I'll keep you updated! :)

You could go to this site to see the pictures of the adult mealworm beetles! The egg stage is missing though.

Shadows

Hi pupils,

Do try this activity on shadows. What do you notice about the size of the shadows when you move the light source nearer or further to the object?

Updates on the mealworm beetles (again)

Hi pupils!

Miss Neo just did some clearing up of the home of the mealworm beetles as many of them have shed their skin! They are still in their larva stage. It'll take some time. Don't worry about it. They are still well. Here's a snapshot of one of them which just moulted.

Say hi to 'pinky'!Here's a video of how big the mealworms are, about the same size as the last video. Look at how fast they move.

A-L.I.F.E.ly Week 2009

Wow! Last week just flew past so quickly. What did you learn during the week? I hope you worked hard and played hard too!

Here are some snapshots of the happenings during last week!

Our P4 level Spelling Bee on Wednesday. Let's give a hand to Jezper and Fatin for representing our class. I'm proud of them for giving their best (and to those who also tried their best)! :)
Thursday morning work-out, learning the Haka Dance (a traditional dance form of the Maori of New Zealand) from Mr. Muru.

The finale on Friday! The games were so much fun! Traditional games by some of the teachers and the P6s really put in a lot of effort in preparing the games for us. Kudos to the P6s teachers and pupils for the great ideas and hard work!

And our project display on South Korea and the national costume! Thank you Sandy for being our lovely model to take the time and effort to don the national costume of S. Korea! :)

A.L.I.F.E.ly Week

Hi pupils!

Our week 4 in Term 2 is going to be an extremely exciting one! We will be having A.L.I.F.E.ly week! What's that all about? It'll be an interesting week, similar to our Learning Week last year, only more! YOG, AYG, SKM, IFD will be part of our lessons that week. Are you looking forward already? :D

And on Friday, we'll be presenting our project to the rest of the school. On what? South Korea! Let's find out more about the country (E.g.: Festivals, History, People, Food, Places of interest, Culture). So Hyung and Nan Hee can be our class experts! :)

Video of Mealworms

How are your mealworms doing? Miss Neo's mealworms are doing great! Growing day by day. Here's a clip of them. Say hello to the mealworms! :D
